Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

3/4 Cup shortening
1 1/4 Cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 Tbsps milk
1 Tbsps vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4  cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Cup large pecan pieces (optional)
Heat oven to 375 F Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Beat egg into creamed mixture. Combine flour, salt, soda, and mix into creamed mixture until just blended. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 F 8 to 13 minutes. Do Not Over Bake - cookies will appear moist. Cool on cookie sheet where they will become crisp when cool.
